作用与用途编辑
水杨酸酯类有许多品种属香料，其中最常用的有水杨酸甲酯、水杨酸异戊酯、水杨酸苄酯。水杨酸甲酯在桦树皮油中的含量达96%，另外在桂皮油、依兰油、紫罗兰油、晚香玉油等精油里也有一定含量，但还未见到在精油中含有其他水杨酸酯的报道。水杨酸异戊酯是戊酯中最重要的品种，是调合三叶草香精的主剂。在调制康乃馨香精时用作多调合剂与定香剂。能与橡苔浸膏、香紫苏油、香叶醇等很好调和。该品是有机合成原料。也用作皂用香精和溶剂。 [2]
