仲辛醇系蓖麻油碱裂解制癸二酸的副产品, 可用作硝基喷漆、瓷漆的溶剂, 以改善延展性、光泽性和流动性;用作纤维润湿剂、除沫剂、高档润滑油的添加剂;也用于合成增塑剂、表面活性剂、农药乳化剂、香料以及用来调整脲醛树脂的粘度，是一种重要的化工原料。有机合成原料，可用于制邻苯二甲酸二仲辛酯增塑剂，也用于合成纤维油剂，农药乳化剂以及煤矿用浮选剂和溶剂等。

Sec-octanol is a byproduct of ricino-alkali-cracking to produce sebacic acid. It can be used as a solvent for nitrocellulose paint and enamel to improve ductility, luster and fluidity. Used as fiber wetting agent, defoaming agent, additive of high-grade lubricating oil; It is also used to synthesize plasticizers, surfactants, pesticide emulsifiers, spices and to adjust the viscosity of urea-formaldehyde resin. It is an important chemical raw material. Organic synthesis raw material, can be used to make two sec-octyl phthalate plasticizer, also used in synthetic fiber oil agent, pesticide emulsifier and coal mine flotation agent and solvent.
