用途：四甲基脲的介电常数比较低，适于作碱催化的异构化、烷基化、氰化及其他缩合反应的溶剂。也用作乙炔和聚丙烯腈的溶剂。本品是一种高效有机溶剂，它对于一般的有机化合物特别是芳香族化合物都能完全溶解，而且还是许多有机物合成反应的优良溶剂。
